First and foremost, we’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to Coach Danko Bjelica. His staunch commitment to the team has played a dual role, acting as a foundation on which we build our skills, as well as an inspiration for us to grow and excel. By consistently instilling the right motivation, Coach Danko has backed us to believe in our abilities and work together as a smooth unit. The bond he has fostered within the team is a testament to his devotion towards our success.
Now, In a pool not so far away, Adriatico Aquatics faces a formidable challenge. But despite the departure of national team players Pavle Kotarac, Igor Shapoznikov, Aiden Masters, Petar Kovacevic, Victor Brancus (knee injury) and Marko Avdalovic, the team redefines the game with remarkable additions.
Canadian Olympic hopeful Milan Radenovic, having helped secure the #1 spot in the NCL Eastern Conference, now looks to the future Olympic qualifications.
Last-minute transfers Diego Gonzalez and Camillo Cortes, both from U of T and Golden Jets, bring a wealth of experience and strength to the team. Diego, a former national team player, adds valuable experience after dominating the national league, while Camillo, a second-year university student, has already claimed two OUA championships and a national title, making him a formidable force.
As the team gears up for the final showdown in Calgary, they know that they wouldn’t be here without the tireless efforts of their club president, Sasko Trajcevski. Sasko, will be traveling with them to Calgary to support their efforts in the National Championships. Sasko has always been a driving force in the world of water polo, making it his life’s mission to make the sport accessible to everyone. From organizing pool sessions, personally funding the team to providing emotional support and guidance, Sasko has gone above and beyond to help the team succeed and create a welcoming environment for water polo enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. His tireless dedication and passion for the sport has ensured that anyone with an interest in water polo can become a part of the team.
From the shadows, Coach Predrag Pejanovic will be following and supporting his team closely. Last season, Predrag, a remarkable club founder, unbelievably suited up as both coach and player at an inspiring 60 years of age! Guiding the team to an outstanding bronze finish at the Nationals in Canada, his true leadership shone through. Despite not being physically present this season, Coach Kile continues to provide his wisdom and unwavering support, guiding the team towards triumph from afar.
At the front of the roster stands Blake Carnevale, the former Canadian national team member, and the current top scorer, leading the charge into the National Championships.
